Chernomorets - a resort in the bays

Chernomorets is one of the youngest resorts on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Located in a picturesque hollow between the rocky capes of Akin and Talasakra, 24 km south of Burgas and 8 km north of ancient Sozopol. The settlement was formerly known as Sveti Nikola ("Saint Nicholas") - after the patron church that still stands today.

The name Chernomorets translates as "Black Sea man". The town received its status in 2009 thanks to its developed resort infrastructure and demographic indicators. Today it is a popular place for those who appreciate a quiet holiday, clean sea and secluded bays.

The resort lies at the foot of the Strandzha mountains - the largest untouched massif in the Balkans. The rocky coastline alternates with sandy beaches, forming cosy bays with crystal clear water. The shallow waters near the shore are a big plus for holidays with children. The water warms up quickly and the bathing season lasts from May to October.
